Installing Asterisk on Debian Stable was as easy as running:
This installed Asterisk 1.6.2.9. The next step to install the Asterisk GUI, which is a little
more complicated as there is no pre-existing package. some steps to get things going:
- apt-get install subversion
- cd /usr/src
- svn co http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk-gui/trunk asterisk-gui
- cd asterisk-gui
- ./configure
- make
- make install
At this point read the README file to see what changes are necessary for /etc/asterisk/http.conf
and /etc/asterisk/manager.conf. Make the changes. Then continue with getting the service
up and running.
- rm -rf /usr/share/asterisk/static-http/
- ln -s /var/lib/asterisk/static-http/ /usr/share/asterisk/
- cd /var/lib/asterisk
- chown -R asterisk.asterisk static-http
- chown -R asterisk.asterisk scripts
- chown -R asterisk.asterisk gui_backups
- etc/init.d/asterisk restart
You should now be able to go to the url and login:
I found Paul Maunders' Blog
helpful in getting things up and running.
