As an excuse to try out things in Blender, I created the following animation.
I took a series of still photographs of the interior of Coconut Rock. The photographs were manipulated with VisualSFM to create a point cloud. The point cloud was imported into Blender to act as a guide in creating surfaces and furniture. The objects were exported from Blender and imported into Meshlab, which was then used to map the photos as textures to the Blender models. The textures were imported back into Blender. I then added lighting, some additional Star Wars models, strategically placed Maclean's original photographs based upon where they were taken, and then rendered the animation to a file.
